The FPA NorCal Conference is put on every year in a collaborative effort by volunteers from the four local Bay Area FPA Chapters, East Bay, Northern CA (Sacramento), Silicon Valley, and San Francisco. Our motto within the FPA NorCal planning committee is a conference For Us, By Us.

“The FPA NorCal conference is hosted annually by a coalition of about half a dozen Financial Planning Association (FPA) chapters in Northern California. Despite being a regional conference, NorCal’s finely tuned systems and processes for planning and executing the event – running for more than 50 years since its founding in 1972 and nearly 20 years at the same venue – ensure it is consistently a national-caliber financial planning event.
The content features a mixture of practice management sessions and technical CE, many of which run 75–100 minutes (not just the usual 50-minute CE session) to allow speakers to delve deeper into their topics. The FPA NorCal conference has a rigorous speaker selection and vetting process and does not permit any ‘pay-to-play’ sponsored sessions, making it a lineup of speakers that advisors actually want to listen to longer.
Often, the biggest challenge at NorCal is that you’ll want to see multiple sessions that conflict in the same time slot – for which NorCal pioneered recording every session, making all recordings included as part of the registration fee. So even if you can’t attend every session in person, you’ll get every bit of content as a registered attendee.“
